When using the verticle cutoff point of a thyratron tube by having the grid voltage about 180 [+/-] degrees from the anode, trouble is experienced due to inductance in the circuit. The angle which alows the anode to conduct is different than the angle which stops the conduction.
This may be remedied by putting in a [?] battery in the anode circuits as shown in the diagram.

The object of these batteries is to have the instantaneous anode voltage negative until the other anode is through with its conduction. The size of the batteries will be determined by the a.c. anode voltage and the [?].
