Harold Edgerton. A20 trip to Wright Field
Aug 31 Col Baisley and Major Tuttle arrived in Boston at airport with A20 plane.
Sept 1. Flash unit (515 pounds) installed. I went with plane to Middletown p??? arriving about 830 pm.
Sept 2. Continued to Wright Hill. Made two flight that night. Camera K24 out of sync.
Sept 3. Checked sync and made successful flight. 1000 ft f2.5 class N film gave good exposure.
Sept 4. Made trip with Col Baisley to Julianopolis in A20. Took photos on the way and return with a K17 camera with an f2.5 lens. Some photos were daylight at 730 pm in rain. Came out OK except for some blur.
Sept 5. no flight. Processed films with Darby Merrill at lab.
Sept 6. Flight with K25 camera f4.5 1/500 sec. Class N film. Photos too thin at 1000 ft. Determined that filter is not necessary at this height in conditions encountered.
Sept 7. Make flight with K17 again. Excellent photos at f2.5 Class N film at 1000 ft.
Sept 8. Baisley leaving for Washington to see McClemnen. I left for N.Y.
Sept 9. Saw Fairchild Co. in New York about cameras and eye camera.
