Description: (curated)

After World War II, Edgerton, Germeshausen, and Grier incorporated their informal partnership to study atomic explosions. Beneath this 1949 description of a method for phototypesetting using a strobe, Doc has pasted in a later newsclipping about an atomic test, photographed with the EG&G “Rapatronic” shutter. Disputing The New York Times, Doc notes that the photo was made on Eniwetok in the South Pacific, not Nevada.
