Description: (curated)

Doc and student Joseph Keithley spent the day taking photos of water drops…in the elevator shaft. They released the drops through a hole in the elevator’s floor while it was stopped 5 feet from the bottom of the shaft and then at the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth floors; the camera was at the bootom of the shaft and the flash was fired using a photocell trigger. Doc was somewhat disappointed by the results: “40 photos taken to get 2 pictures of drops! The drops do not break up in falling this distance.” (JB)
