Description: (curated)
To demonstrate the effects of gravity, specifically the acceleration of all falling objects, Edgerton inevitably recalled the legend of Sir Isaac Newton sitting under the aple tree. An assistant obligingly dropped a large Delicious apple for the strobe, firing at an even 60 flashes per second, to trace its increasingly rapid trajectory in this multiflash picture.
