In 1939, Edgerton published his first book of photographs, titled “Flash!” Here Doc (left) poses with Flash! And International News Service photographer George Woodruff, J, Winston Lemen of the Eastman Kodak Co., and colleague Herbert Grier. Doc notes that the photograph was taken with his portable flash unit at Boston’s Parker House Hotel. (JB)
