Description: (curated)
By placing them directly on the emulsion of his film and using a tiny electronic flash to expose the picture, Edgerton capured these miniature animals without a camera. Although this type of photograph is ordinarily called a shadow picture, the miniscule lobster is actually translucent enough for the flash to reveal its interior structure, This unique method allows scientists to study marine organisms while they are alive.
