Description: (curated)
Flying from the darkness into the light, a pigeon beats its way through three moments of its flight cycle. Its wings expand and curve before contracting into a fan of white feathers. To achieve this stunning effect, Edgerton manually selected the precise sequence of exposures, each lasting 1/100,000 of a second. (from "Stopping Time" (1987), pp. 109-110). (CC)
